Julia A. Rosdahl, MD, PhD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist at the Duke Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina.

After completing her doctoral work on retinal ganglion cell biology during her MD-PhD at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, she is working to save as many retinal ganglion cells as possible and preserving sight for her glaucoma patients as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke University.

She is also her department’s Director of Medical Student Education and Chief Wellness Officer. She currently serves as the Chair of the Planning Group of the National Eye Health Education Program and the Chair of the Patient Engagement Subcommittee of the Patient Care Committee of the American Glaucoma Society, and serves on committees with the American Association of Ophthalmology and the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology.

She has authored peer-reviewed articles on health coaching and patient education for glaucoma, book chapters on glaucoma care including a textbook on OCT for glaucoma, and she presents regularly at regional and national conferences on these topics.
