Dr. Sunil K. Srivastava is a practicing ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis, as well as medical and surgical vitreoretinal diseases, at the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics, summa cum laude, from Cornell University and graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Srivastava completed his ophthalmology residency at Emory University, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by fellowships in uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases at the National Eye Institute and in vitreoretinal surgery at Duke University.
Dr. Srivastava joined the Cole Eye Institute in 2010 and is currently the Program Director of the Medical and Surgical Vitreoretinal Fellowships. He has co-authored over 275 peer-reviewed publications, delivered more than 300 invited lectures, and received numerous teaching awards at the Cleveland Clinic, Emory University, and Duke University. At the Cleveland Clinic, he has also earned multiple Innovator Awards for his advancements in imaging analysis.
His professional honors include the Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as the Senior Honor Award and the Presidential Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Srivastava holds 11 patents in imaging analysis and leads a uveitis imaging research lab at the Cole Eye Institute. His research focuses on imaging biomarkers for inflammatory diseases, intraoperative surgical imaging, and automated imaging analysis, supported by multiple research grants. He is actively involved in national programs dedicated to advancing education for ophthalmologists, residents, and vitreoretinal fellows.
