WVU Eye Institute launches Immuno-Ocular Enrichment Support Group
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The WVU Eye Institute is launching an Immuno-Ocular Enrichment Support Group, a dedicated community for patients with autoimmune diseases that impact eye health. The group aims to provide valuable insights into maintaining eyesight and overall health through an informative forum and community support.
The support group will be facilitated by Grace Levy-Clarke, M.D., a specialist in uveitis, and will begin meeting in September. Sessions will be held in-person at the WVU Eye Institute in Morgantown with a virtual option available for remote participants. Participation is free of charge, and the group is open to patients, their family members, and friends.
Patients with a range of autoimmune diseases, including ankylosing spondylitis, keratitis, lupus, mucous membrane pemphigoid, multiple sclerosis, optic neuritis, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, sarcoidosis, scleritis, Sjogren’s disease, thyroid disease, ulcerative colitis (Crohn’s disease), and uveitis, are encouraged to join the support group.
“We are thrilled to offer this support group to our patients,” Dr. Levy-Clarke said. “Our goal is to create a space where patients can gain valuable knowledge about their conditions and connect with others who share similar experiences.”
